Postcrossing

Philately was my hobby. I’am so glad have a pen pal. But, because of the development of the Internet my hobby stopped. People prefer corresponding through email than post cause more faster, easier and cheaper.

But, thanks to internet, I can continue my hobby. Through postcrossing, I can send a postcard and receive a postcard from Postcrosser from somewhere in the world.

So, I begin to join this web, and ask for the address. This time, I must send my postcards to Ooltewah USA, Lisboa Portugal, Rio Grande do Sul Brazil, Komarova Russia, and Unterhaching Germany. I thiks its easy to find postcard. But, i was wrong. Its hard to find great poscard in Indonesia. The biggest bookstore in Indonesia: Gramedia not sale any postcard :(. I guess the postcards have become a rare creature in Indonesia..or I just do not know where to buy post cards besides in the bookstore..

And finally, after whirled between Sarinah and Grand Indonesia Jakarta I foud postcard in Kinokuniya. Then, the challenge is to find a post office. I really don’t have any idea where the nearest post office here. Surprisingly, I didn’t make much effort to found post office..lesser effort than to found postcard. 


To deliver my postcard to anywhere around the world, each postcard cost Rp.5000 (about half dollar) :D. My job for this first session is finished. It’s time to waiting a surprise postcard  from people around the world ^___^
